Admission Requirements
The course has no numerus clausus (NC) and allows entry with or without a high school diploma. The following paths are open:
- General or subject-specific university entrance qualification – no NC.
- Without a high school diploma with a subject-specific advanced training examination.
- Without a high school diploma with vocational training (related field access).
Prior achievements can be extensively credited – both lump-sum and individually. This way, you save time, exams, and tuition fees:
- Crediting of many further training and qualifications (e.g. IHK certificates, specialist business administrators) with up to 90 credits.
- Financial advantage: A credit of €40 per credited credit.
- Individual assessment of achievements obtained in preliminary studies.

How does the distance learning in Product Design at Euro-FH work?
You study with digital support and while working. Study materials, audio booklets, webinars, learning apps, and the AI learning companion KILEA support you 24/7. Exams are taken online or monthly at nationwide locations. Compact seminars are rare and usually held online.
Learning with digital materials
All content is digital – supplemented by audio study booklets, webinars, and tools for design and prototyping. In the design studio, you continuously work on projects, receive structured feedback, and build your portfolio step by step. Personal support from subject-specific tutors guides you through the process.
Exams: online or at the examination center
You choose between online exams from home or one of the 10 examination centers in Germany. There are on-site exam dates available every month. If a date is not suitable, you can take the exam the following month without losing time in your study plan.

There are only a few compact seminars, which usually take place online. There is no mandatory presence at a fixed campus. Individual optional dates may be useful depending on the project format; they are plannable and can be coordinated with work and family.

For realistic planning, consider this: In the 36-month model, you should plan about 15-20 hours per week, in the 48-month model about 10-15 hours - depending on previous experience, credits, and project phase.
How much does the distance learning course in product design at Euro-FH cost?
Tuition fees start at €259 per month. Due to the free extension of 18 or 24 months, there are no additional basic fees if you plan the extension accordingly. Additional costs mainly arise if you have to attend exams or optional dates.
Prior credits can save money: €40 are credited for each recognized credit, up to 90 credits can be transferred - this noticeably reduces the total duration and fees. Study costs are usually tax-deductible as advertising or special expenses. You qualify for tasks in design studios, industry, and innovation areas - from concept to prototyping to implementation. Typical entry roles are in design and at the interface to technology; with professional experience, responsibilities and salaries grow, also in management and strategy roles.
- Product Designer or Industrial Designer: Design and development of physical products, series maturity, supplier and manufacturing coordination. Typical annual salary: approx. €40,000-€65,000 gross, up to €75,000 with seniority.
- UX-Interaction-XR Designer: User guidance, interaction, immersive prototypes, and product communication. Range: approx. €50,000-€80,000, depending on the industry and responsibilities.
- Design Engineer / Product Developer: Construction, material specification, testing, and validation at the interface between design and technology. Range: approx. €50,000-€75,000.
