These are the admission requirements for the Bachelor of Communication Design
In the Bachelor's distance learning course Communication Design at IU International University (IU), you can enrol if you provide us with your A-levels (general higher education entrance qualification), your subject-related university entrance qualification (technical college entrance qualification) or your subject-bound university entrance qualification.
Alternatively, you can also enrol without A-levels. Studying without A-levels at IU is possible under the following conditions:
- You have successfully completed an advanced training course, for example, a training course to become a certified business economist.
- Or you have completed a vocational training, for example, training as a business clerk. After your training, you have worked in this profession full-time for at least 3 years. If your training does not match the content of the distance learning course in Communication Design, you will first complete a trial study before being regularly enrolled.

Study Concept: How the part-time Communication Design studies work at IU
Adapt the online Communication Design studies at IU International University flexibly to fit your life and daily routine as best as it suits you. For example, you can choose one of 3 study models: In the full-time study, you need a total of 6 semesters, i.e., 36 months until you graduate with a Bachelor's degree. In part-time study I, you study for 8 semesters until completion. Or you can opt for part-time study II and take 12 semesters to complete the Bachelor's.
With each module registration, you will receive study materials as printed study booklets. All materials are also available in digital format. The IU Interactive Books are innovative learning scripts enriched with video clips and quiz questions at the end of a lesson. Depending on the module, study materials are supplemented with podcasts, live tutorials, and video content in the form of so-called shortcasts. You can access the IU Interactive Books via the convenient IU Learn app.
Additionally, many modules offer virtual classes, allowing you to interactively engage with fellow students and lecturers.
Very practical and flexible: the option to take module exams in the form of online exams. You can take an online exam 24/7, 7 days a week - exactly when you feel best prepared for the exam, for example in construction technology. Furthermore, we operate about 40 exam centres in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland where you can also take your exams in-person.
