These are the admission requirements for the Bachelor's in Media Design
You can enrol in the Bachelor's Distance Learning Programme in Media Design at IU International University (IU) if you provide us with your A-levels (general university entrance qualification), your Fachabitur (subject-restricted entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences), or your subject-specific higher education entrance qualification.
Alternatively, you can also enrol without A-levels. Enrolment in the IU without A-levels is possible under the following conditions:
- You have successfully completed an advanced training programme, for example, training as a State-certified Business Administrator.
- Or you have completed a vocational training, for example, training as an office clerk. Following your training, you have worked in this profession full-time for at least 3 years. If your training is not thematically related to the Distance Learning Media Design programme, you will first complete a trial study before being regularly enrolled.

Study Concept: How the Media Design part-time study at IU works
You can flexibly adjust the online Media Design studies at IU International University to fit your life and daily routine as best suits you. For example, you can choose from 3 study models: in the full-time programme, you need a total of 6 semesters, or 36 months, to complete your Bachelor's. In part-time study I, you will study for 8 semesters until completion. Alternatively, you can opt for part-time study II and take up to 12 semesters to complete your Bachelor's.
With each module enrollment, you will receive study materials from IU in the form of printed study booklets. All materials are also available digitally. The IU Interactive Books are innovative learning scripts enriched with video clips and quiz questions at the end of a lesson. Depending on the module, study materials are supplemented with podcasts, live tutorials, and video content in the form of so-called Shortcasts. You can access the IU Interactive Books via the convenient Learn App from IU.
Many modules also offer virtual classes, allowing you to interact interactively with your fellow students and lecturers.
Especially convenient and flexible is the option to take module exams in the form of online exams. You can take an online exam 7 days a week, around the clock - when you feel best prepared, for example, for the exam in Building Construction. Additionally, we operate about 40 exam centres in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, where you can also take your exams in a traditional on-site manner.
