Admission requirements
For the degree programme Communication Design, applicants are admitted if they meet one of the following requirements:
\u2022 General university entrance qualification
\u2022 University of Applied Sciences entrance qualification
\u2022 Passed master craftsman examination
\u2022 Intermediate school leaving certificate (at least a secondary school leaving certificate) and a qualified completion of at least a 3-year recognised vocational training with an average, overall or final grade of 2.5 or better (if these grades are not specified, the arithmetic mean of the individual subject grades applies)
\u2022 Proof of outstanding scientific or artistic talent through an aptitude test at the DIPLOMA University at the beginning of the studies
We will be happy to provide more information on specific qualifications upon request. Applicants who do not meet the mentioned requirements can initially participate in the study as guest students if they have admission to the higher education entrance qualification examination.
For foreign qualifications, equivalence must be proven for admission purposes.

Details
The Bachelor's degree programme in Communication Design at DIPLOMA University provides comprehensive skills and knowledge in the field of visual communication and graphic design. Students learn how to creatively prepare and present information in an understandable way. The tasks of communication designers include the design of fonts, colours, brochures, magazines, and websites, as well as creating a consistent design. Additionally, the programme nurtures the students' creativity and artistic talent, allowing them to develop and implement their own artistic and editorial projects.
The study courses are offered as both remote learning programmes that can be completed entirely online and as on-campus studies at the Stein campus near Nuremberg. Furthermore, the remote learning programme can be combined with full-time training in graphic design.
With various elective areas such as "Crossmedia Illustration and Editorial Design," "Holistic Brand Management," and "Interfaces and Interactions," students can focus on their areas of interest. The Bachelor of Arts degree is internationally recognised and allows for progression to a postgraduate Master's programme.

It is possible to extend the study period for up to four semesters free of charge. On-campus students benefit from a familiar atmosphere at the campus and individual support from the teaching staff.
