University of Applied Sciences entrance qualification or successfully completed master craftsman's examination or intermediate school leaving certificate (at least equivalent to a Realschulabschluss) and a qualified completion of at least three years of recognized vocational training, with an average grade of 2.5 or better (if these grades are not specified, the arithmetic mean of the individual subject grades applies) or Evidence of outstanding scientific or artistic talent through a talent test at the DIPLOMA University at the beginning of studies.For foreign qualifications, equivalence must be proven for admission.

The distance learning course in Information Design at DIPLOMA University comprehensively prepares students for tasks in the field of information design and technical communication. It has a standard study period of seven semesters and concludes with the academic degree Bachelor of Arts.
The course places particular emphasis on the combination of language, media design, and marketing. The study content covers a wide range of technical, scientific, and engineering knowledge. Students learn the entire process of information use - from preliminary analysis to subsequent evaluation to improve User Experience (UX).
The taught contents include basics of project management, cognition and perception psychology for technical communication, content creation, text skills, as well as information management. In addition, students acquire knowledge in the application of Artificial Intelligence in Technical Editing and the legal foundations of the industry.
A significant part of the training includes specialized media production, including writing for modularized information media and working with Content Management Systems (CCMS). The goal is to describe technical matters comprehensibly and target-group oriented and to pass on knowledge in various formats and media.
After completing the studies, graduates have various career opportunities, such as technical editor, technical writer, or user experience designer. Due to the strong practical orientation and cooperations with industry partners, practical experiences are extensively integrated into the studies.
