The MBA Brand Marketing at the Brand University of Applied Sciences is aimed at professionals who have already gained initial experience in marketing or the TIME sector (Telecommunications, Information, Media, Entertainment) and want to advance their careers in brand management.

This degree programme is particularly appealing to individuals looking for a solid education to deepen their knowledge in brand management and learn how to develop a strong brand, create a successful brand strategy, and engage target groups with their brand.

There are two ways to qualify for the MBA programme in Brand Marketing:

  • Prior academic studies and work experience: You need a completed Bachelor's degree with at least 180 ECTS points and at least one year of work experience after completing your Bachelor's degree.
  • Professional experience and entrance exam: Alternatively, you can apply without a Bachelor's degree if you can demonstrate at least one year of relevant work experience and successfully pass an entrance exam.

The technical requirements include access to a PC and stable internet, as well as a webcam and microphone for examinations.

Procedure for the entrance exam for access to the MBA without a Bachelor's degree

The entrance exam consists of a written exam and an oral examination, both of which are taken on the same day.

Interested individuals can register online for one of the monthly examination dates via the registration form. The maximum number of participants per session is limited to 10 people.

A prerequisite for participation is the evidence of at least one year of professional experience. Free cancellation or rescheduling of the exam is possible up to one week before the exam date.

A one-time fee of 200 € is charged for the entrance exam, which also includes the option to retake the exam. This fee will be refunded upon passing the exam and commencing the studies.

Part 1 "Companies and Environment" and Part 2 "Marketing" from the 10th edition of "General Business Administration" by Thommen, Achleitner, Gilbert, Hachmeister, Jarchow, and Kaiser, as well as the accompanying workbook with review questions, serve as preparation for the oral examination, which also forms the basis for the exam questions.

The entrance exam is conducted online via MS Teams. Participants must verify their identity at the beginning of the exam. During the exam, only the exam program is open. Headphones or other aids are not allowed.

The written exam takes place between 9:00 and 10:00 on the exam day, lasts a maximum of 60 minutes, and consists of questions on understanding and discussing a scientific article.

The oral exam follows the written exam and lasts a maximum of 45 minutes. It tests knowledge of general business administration and another specialist field.

The exam is conducted before an examination board, consisting of a professor as chairman and a part-time lecturer from the chosen study programme. The exam performance is assessed as either "passed" or "not passed."

After successfully completing the entrance exam, nothing stands in the way of starting the distance learning course in the chosen MBA programme, and the exam fee will be refunded after 6 months as part of the tuition fees.

Duration of Studies, Contents & Specialisations of the MBA Brand Marketing

The Master of Business Administration in Brand Marketing combines a qualification in business administration with practical competency acquisition and focuses on the thematic priorities of Brand Marketing and Management.

Students learn how to create, manage, and communicate brands, with a focus on marketing brand products and services. Customer relationships with the brand are established and maintained, and marketing strategies for brand attributes are developed.

This accredited programme comprises 90 ECTS with a minimum duration of 18 months full-time or 24 months part-time and provides business management skills combined with social competence to prepare students for specialist and managerial tasks in company management or self-employment.

The online study programme is structured in a modular and sequential manner: the modules build on each other in content and must be completed in a predefined order accordingly.
