We offer the Master's in Online Marketing in 2 variants: the shortened 60 ECTS variant lasts 2 semesters in full-time studies. The 120 ECTS variant lasts 4 semesters in full-time studies.
For the 120 ECTS variant in 4 semesters, the following requirements apply:
- You have a first academic degree with a focus on economics or business administration and a final grade of at least "satisfactory".
- If your degree has a different focus, you can be admitted through a Master's entrance examination
For the shortened 60 ECTS variant, the following requirements apply:
- You have a first academic degree with a final grade of at least "satisfactory".
- If your first degree is 180 ECTS, you take additional courses totaling 30 ECTS and demonstrate at least 1 year of relevant work experience. Alternatively, you demonstrate at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- If your degree is 210 ECTS, you demonstrate at least 1 year of qualified work experience. You have gained work experience following your studies.
- If your degree is 240 ECTS, as is often the case with many diploma degrees, you additionally demonstrate 1 year of qualified work experience in addition to the degree.
If you opt for the English-language variant, you must also provide proof of your English language skills. You can prove your English language skills, for example, through a TOEFL (at least 80 points), via IELTS (at least Level 6), through a passed Duolingo English test (at least 105 points), with a Cambridge certificate (at least grade B overall), or an equivalent qualification. Alternatively, you can complete an English course free of charge directly at IU International University.
By the way, you can also enroll in the 60 ECTS variant of this Master's program even without a Bachelor's degree. This requires that you have either a special (A-levels) or vocational training as well as further training to advance your career. In addition, you have collected at least 10 years of relevant work experience, including 6 years as a leader or expert. If you meet these requirements, you can take a Master's aptitude test at IU.

Study Concept: How the Part-time Online Marketing Study at IU Works
The online study programme in Online Marketing at IU International University allows you to adapt it flexibly to your life and daily routine, according to what suits you best. For example, you can choose from 3 study models: In the full-time study, it will take you a total of 2 semesters or 4 semesters to complete the Master's degree, depending on the study variant. In part-time study I, you will study for 3 or 6 semesters until graduation. Or you can opt for part-time study II and take 4 or 8 semesters to complete the Master's.
With each module registration, you will receive study materials from IU as printed study booklets. All materials are also available to you digitally. The IU Interactive Books are innovative learning scripts enriched with video clips and quiz questions at the end of a lesson. In addition to the modules, study materials are supplemented by podcasts, live tutorials, and video content in the form of so-called Shortcasts. You can access the IU Interactive Books via the convenient IU Learn App.
Many modules also offer virtual lectures, which allow you to interactively engage with your fellow students and lecturers.
Especially practical and flexible is the option to take module exams in the form of online exams. You can take an online exam 7 days a week, around the clock - at a time when you feel optimally prepared for the exam, for example in Building Construction. Additionally, we operate about 40 exam centres in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, where you can also take your exams in the traditional way.
