In order to enroll in the Bachelor's distance learning programme in Media Informatics at IU International University (IU), you need to provide us with your A-levels (the general qualification for university entrance), your advanced technical college entrance qualification (Fachabitur), or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification.
Alternatively, you can also enroll without A-levels. Studying without A-levels at IU is possible under the following conditions:
- You have successfully completed an advanced training course, such as a training course to become a Certified Business Administrator.
- Or you have completed a vocational training programme, such as training to become an Office Administrator. Following your training, you have worked in this profession full-time for at least 3 years. If your training is not related to the Media Informatics distance learning programme, you will first need to complete a trial study before being officially enrolled.

The online study programme in Media Informatics at IU International University can be flexibly adapted to fit your life and daily routine as best suits you. For example, you can choose one of 3 study models: In the full-time study, you need a total of 6 semesters, which is 36 months, to complete your bachelor's degree. In part-time study I, you study for 8 semesters until graduation. Or you can opt for part-time study II and take up to 12 semesters to complete your bachelor's.
With each module registration, you will receive study materials from IU as printed study booklets. All materials are also available digitally. The IU Interactive Books are innovative learning scripts enriched with video clips and quiz questions at the end of a lesson. In addition to the modules, study materials are supplemented with podcasts, live tutorials, and video content known as Shortcasts. You can access the IU Interactive Books via the convenient IU Learn app.
In many modules, virtual classes are also offered, allowing you to interactively engage with your peers and tutors.
Especially convenient and flexible is the option to take module exams in the form of online exams. You can take an online exam 7 days a week, around the clock—when you feel best prepared, for example, for an exam in construction. Additionally, we operate around 40 examination centres in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, where you can also take your exams in a traditional, on-site manner.
