For the B.Sc. Vehicle Engineering at Wilhelm Bücher University, there are various ways to access:

Access option No. 1: You have the general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), the subject-related higher education entrance qualification, or the subject-bound higher education entrance qualification.

Access option No. 2: You have a university entrance qualification recognized as equivalent by the Hessian Ministry of Culture (e.g. a master's degree or a degree as a state-certified technician).

Access option No. 3: Study as a guest auditor: You start your guest studies at our university without the three mentioned accesses and after 2 performance semesters, you take the university entrance examination. To do this, you must meet all the following requirements:

  1. You have completed at least a two-year vocational training in a field related to the desired course of study according to the Vocational Training Act, the Crafts Code, regulated by federal or state law.
  2. You have subsequently worked in a field related to the desired course of study for at least two years on a full-time basis.

If you aim for a course of study that is not related to the completed training or professional activity, then the knowledge acquired through training and professional activity must be expanded or deepened by qualified further training with a scope of at least 400 hours in a field related to the desired course of study.

After passing the university entrance examination, we will change your status from guest auditor to regular student.

Your Bachelor's degree in Vehicle Engineering at WBH is structured in modules. You will study thematically closed material areas (modules) to which credit points are assigned according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). The number of credit points assigned to each module depends on the scope of the module and the associated workload. All credit points you earn will be credited to you and you will receive confirmation of this. Your achievements are thus comparable and recognised, also internationally.

  • 3rd Semester: Mathematics III with Laboratory, Materials Engineering, Technical Mechanics, Introduction to Electrical Engineering and Electronics
  • 4th Semester: Technical Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics with Laboratory, Design Theory and Machine Elements I, Measurement Technology, Communication and Management (including Elective Areas I/II)
  • 5th Semester: Design Theory and Machine Elements II, Analogue Control Engineering with Laboratory, Vehicle Engineering I with Laboratory, Vehicle Engineering II
  • 6th Semester: Design Theory and Machine Elements III, Internal Combustion Engines with Laboratory, Fundamentals of Vehicle Electronics, Elective Area III
