Admission requirements

Necessary:

Admission requirement is a completed university degree with at least 180 ECTS in the study areas

  • Mechanical engineering,
  • Mechatronics,
  • Production technology and process engineering,
  • Materials science and engineering,
  • Industrial engineering with a focus on engineering,
  • Engineering computer science/Technical computer science,
  • Digital Engineering,
  • Electrical energy technology,
  • Steel construction,
  • Foundry engineering,
  • Materials science and engineering,
  • Automotive, aviation and aerospace engineering
  • or an equivalent qualification.

For the course version with 90 ECTS, a university degree is required

  • with at least 210 ECTS
  • or less than 210 ECTS and at least one year of relevant qualified professional experience, in which case students will obtain a master's degree with less than 300 ECTS.


For prospective students from abroad, we require proof of German language proficiency. There are several ways to provide proof, such as

  • DSH-2 (German Language Examination for University Entrance),
  • C1 according to CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages),
  • TestDaF level 4 (Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache)
  • a school leaving qualification equivalent to a German university entrance qualification.

Recommended Knowledge:

  • Solid knowledge of academic work,
  • English skills at level "CEFR-C1" (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages),
  • Basic mechanical engineering competencies, such as methodical design, CAD, machine elements, manufacturing technology as well as power and working machines,
  • For the course version with 90 ECTS: Content of the 1st semester of the course version with 120 ECTS.

Within the framework of the propaedeutics, missing prerequisites can be acquired alongside the studies.
