The distance learning programme Master's in Mechanical Engineering at HFH · Hamburger Fern-Hochschule focuses on imparting profound academic knowledge in the complex world of mechanical engineering. The programme consists of four semesters, including three regular study semesters and an additional semester for the completion of the Master's thesis. A total of 90 ECTS credits are awarded.
The Master's in Mechanical Engineering is offered in cooperation with the Heilbronn Institute for Lifelong Learning (HILL). Through this partnership, you benefit from extensive support and technical infrastructure, especially for laboratory sessions.
During your studies, you deepen your technical and methodological knowledge in areas such as development management, robotics, mechatronic systems, finite element method (FEM) simulations, materials science, and elective modules. These modules prepare you to take on leadership roles in development processes and develop innovative, creative solutions.

Development Management Robotics and Mechatronic Systems Methods and Procedures FEM - Finite Element Method Materials Elective modules such as Sheet Metal Forming with FEM Simulation, Computational Intelligence in Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, Multibody Systems, Robot Laboratory and Training, Virtual Product Development - CAD/DMUGraduates of the programme are able to comprehensively address complex mechanical engineering issues, analyze them holistically, and take on leadership roles in interdisciplinary and international teams. The challenges faced by mechanical engineering professionals range from research and development to production, project management, and sales.
