- 6 possible specialisations, such as General Electrical Engineering or Information and Communication Technology
- 5 elective modules in the elective area
- incl. practical phase in the workplace, prior work experience can be credited
- University and non-university accomplishments can be recognised
These are the requirements for the Bachelor's in Electrical and Information Technology
For the B.Sc. in Electrical and Information Technology at Wilhelm Bücher University, there are various ways to enrol:
Enrolment option No. 1: You have a general higher education entrance qualification (A-levels), a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, or a subject-restricted higher education entrance qualification.
Enrolment option No. 2: You have a higher education entrance qualification recognised as equivalent by the Hessian Ministry of Culture (e.g. a master's degree or a state-certified technician qualification).
Enrolment option No. 3: Studying as an auditor: You start your auditor study at our university without meeting the three mentioned entry requirements and, after 2 academic semesters, take the University Entrance Examination (HZP). To do this, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- You have completed a training for at least two years regulated by the Vocational Training Act, the Crafts Code, federal or state law in a field related to the desired course of study.
- You have subsequently worked in a field related to the desired course of study for at least two years on a full-time basis.
If you aim to study in a field not related to your completed training or work experience, the knowledge acquired through training and work experience must be expanded or deepened through qualified further education in a field related to the desired course of study with a minimum of 400 hours.

Your Bachelor's degree course in Electrical and Information Technology at the WBH is structured in modules. You study thematically self-contained subject areas (modules) to which credit points are assigned according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). The number of credit points assigned to each module depends on the scope of the module and the associated workload. All credit points you earn will be credited to you, and you will receive a transcript. Your achievements are thus comparable and recognised – even internationally.
The course of study is structured as follows:
- 1st Semester: Mathematics I, Basic Science, Fundamentals of Computer Science with Lab, Fundamentals of Business Administration and Legal Foundations, Introduction Project for Engineers
- 2nd Semester: Mathematics II, Basic Engineering Sciences, Introduction to Electrical Engineering and Electronics, Communication and Management
- 3rd Semester: Mathematics III with Lab, Digital and Microcomputer Technology, Systems Theory and Modelling with Lab, Electrical Engineering, Operating Systems
- 4th Semester: Measurement Technology, Electronic Circuit Technology, Digital Signal and Information Processing, Control Engineering with Lab
- 5th Semester: Control Engineering with Lab, Design and Communication of Embedded Systems, Fundamentals of Telecommunications and Networking, Electrical Machines
- 6th Semester: Power Electronics, Specialisation (Module I), Specialisation (Module II), Specialisation (Module III)
