Admission requirements
You can start your studies if you meet one of the following requirements:
General qualification for university entrance (Abitur) or Subject-specific higher education entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife) or successfully completed master's examination or secondary school leaving certificate (at least Realschulabschluss) and a qualified completion of a recognized vocational training of at least 3 years (grade 2.5 or better).If you do not yet meet the requirements, you can participate as an auditor if you have been admitted to the HZB exam (university entrance qualification). Equivalence must be proven for admission with foreign degrees.

The UX Design course at the DIPLOMA University offers a comprehensive education in designing and improving digital user experiences. The course comprises 180 ECTS credits and has a standard period of study of 7 semesters. With this course, you can move between the fields of creative and media business, information and communication technology, as well as social and cultural sciences.
During the course, you will acquire theoretical knowledge and application-oriented skills in the field of User Experience (UX). The study content includes, among others:
Theoretical basics in communication design Visual perception and design Representation and digital design processes Basics of knowledge and innovation management User research and market research Interactive storytelling, transmedia, and communication management UX usability engineering, documentation, and prototyping Usability, ergonomics, and screen design IT and media law as well as data protection Human-computer interaction, usability testing, and evaluation including a workshop at the UX Tracking Lab Human-centered service design and e-business leadership Mobile interface design and programming of surfaces in iOS and Android Business English and media communicationFurthermore, you have the opportunity to specialize through elective modules such as Smart Mobility, Immersive Design, and Audiovisual Design. The course is practice-oriented and also promotes your ability to work independently. Our lecturers, who are experts in their respective fields, continuously provide support and guidance.
At the end of each semester, there is an exam, which can be taken either online or at an examination centre. The colloquium for your bachelor's thesis also takes place online. Successful completion of the course is rewarded with the internationally recognised title Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in UX Design.
As a UX designer, you will have numerous career opportunities in the digitised world, including in the design of mobile applications, the development of interactive multimedia applications, and the strategic conception of user journey models. Additionally, you have the option to pursue a postgraduate master's degree after completing your bachelor's to further enhance your career prospects.
