Admission requirements
Graduates of a Bachelor's degree programme in Media Informatics or with equivalent qualifications can be admitted to the Master's programme.
To complete the programme within the standard period of study, knowledge is required similar to that taught in the Bachelor's programme in Online Media Informatics. Other requirements include a high degree of self-organization and self-motivation, as well as the ability to study online. A media fee of currently 95 EUR (70 EUR for those eligible for BAföG) per semester and module will be charged.Details
The Master's programme in Media Informatics Online at the Berlin Institute of Technology is specifically designed to deepen and specialise IT knowledge in order to meet the constantly changing demands of the media and IT industry. It is particularly suitable for graduates of a relevant bachelor's degree who wish to further qualify comprehensively, as well as for professionals who aim to pursue a higher academic degree while working.

Information Architecture User Experience Coding of Multimedia Data Probability Theory and Cryptography Scientific Seminar Startup Management Project and Quality Management Scientific Project Final Examination Master's Thesis Oral ExamOptional additional specialisation modules such as Artificial Intelligence, Media Didactics and Conceptualization, Modern Software Development, Motion Design, Accessibility, Data Science, Database Technologies, Deep Learning, Game Design, and Graphical Visualization Technologies can be taken.
The study programme is characterized by a close integration of theory and practice. Multimedia learning materials are provided for self-study. Students receive support from online available tutors with extensive experience in research and industry. The Master's thesis can usually be written in collaboration with partner companies.
Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates are awarded the academic degree Master of Science, which provides them with extensive career opportunities in the media and IT industry. Possible fields of work include the development and implementation of corporate designs for company websites, game development, mobile applications, as well as complex interactive web applications, project management, and the leadership of IT and media projects.
