Admission requirements

Prerequisite for participation in the course "Medical Informatics" is typically a completed university degree in medicine or informatics or related courses of study (each with a relevant proportion of medical or informatics subjects) and subsequent qualified practical professional experience of usually not less than one year. In case of doubt, an individual assessment will be carried out.

For applicants from courses of study with less than 210 credits, additional modules are prescribed, which must be successfully completed before admission to the final examination. We recommend completing some of the additionally required modules before starting the master's program. To do this, it is necessary to contact us in February or August, as certain registration deadlines must be met.

In addition, knowledge of elementary, sometimes also advanced mathematics, as well as basic knowledge of statistics, is required, which should ideally be acquired or refreshed before starting the course.

Applicants who did not obtain their first degree at a recognized German-speaking institution must provide proof of language proficiency in accordance with § 3 of the "Regulation on Admission Regulations and Enrollment at the Berlin Institute of Technology".
