These are the admission requirements for the Bachelor of Applied Artificial Intelligence
In the Bachelor's distance learning program for Applied Artificial Intelligence at IU International University (IU), you can enroll if you provide us with your A-levels (general university entrance qualification), your technical college entrance qualification, or the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification.
Alternatively, you can also enroll without A-levels. Studying without A-levels at IU is possible under the following conditions:
- You have successfully completed an advanced training course, such as a training course to become a State Certified Business Administrator.
- Or you have completed a vocational training, such as training to become an office clerk. Following your training, you have worked in this profession for at least 3 years full-time. If your training is not thematically related to the distance learning program in Applied Artificial Intelligence, you will first complete a trial study before being regularly enrolled.
If you wish to take the course in English, you must demonstrate your English language skills. You can provide evidence of these skills, for example, through a TOEFL (at least 80 points), IELTS (at least Level 6), a passed Duolingo English Test (at least 105 points), a Cambridge Certificate (at least grade B overall), or an equivalent qualification. Alternatively, you can take an English course for free directly at IU International University.
Foreign prospective students applying for the German-language study program must provide proof of German language skills. You can provide this proof as follows: TestDaF (TND3, at least 3 points in all sections), DSH (DSH-1), Telc (Telc Deutsch B2), ÖSD (ÖSD B2).

Study Concept: How the Part-Time AI Studies Work at IU
The online programme in Applied Artificial Intelligence at IU International University can be adapted flexibly to fit your life and daily routine. For instance, you can choose one of 3 study models: In the full-time programme, you need a total of 6 semesters, i.e. 36 months, to complete your bachelor's degree. In part-time programme I, you study for 8 semesters until completion. Or you can opt for part-time programme II and take 12 semesters to complete your bachelor's degree.
You will receive study materials at IU in printed study booklets with each module enrolment. All materials are also available digitally. The IU Interactive Books are innovative learning scripts enriched with video clips and quiz questions at the end of each lesson. Depending on the module, study materials are supplemented with podcasts, live tutorials, and video content in the form of so-called Shortcasts. You can access the IU Interactive Books via the convenient Learn App of IU.
In many modules, virtual teaching sessions are also offered, allowing you to interactively engage with your fellow students and lecturers.
Extremely convenient and flexible: the option to take module exams in the form of online exams. You can write an online exam 7 days a week, 24 hours a day - whenever you feel optimally prepared for the exam, for example, in building construction. Additionally, we operate about 40 exam centres in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland where you can also take your exams in the traditional way on-site.
