These are the admission requirements for the Bachelor Data Science
In the Bachelor distance learning program Data Science at IU International University (IU), you can enroll if you provide us with your A-levels (general university entrance qualification), your technical college entrance qualification, or the subject-related university entrance qualification.
Alternatively, you can also enroll without A-levels. Studying without A-levels at IU is possible under the following conditions:
- You have successfully completed an advanced training, for example, a training to become a state-certified business economist.
- Or you have completed a vocational training, for example, training as a clerical assistant. Following your training, you have worked full-time in this profession for at least 3 years. If your training is thematically not related to distance learning Data Science, you first complete a trial period before being regularly enrolled.
Additionally, you must demonstrate your English language skills. You can demonstrate English language skills, for example, through a TOEFL (at least 80 points), via IELTS (at least level 6), through a passed Duolingo English test (at least 105 points), with a Cambridge certificate (at least grade B), or an equivalent proof. Alternatively, you can take an English course free of charge directly at IU International University.

You adapt the online study Data Science at IU International University flexibly to fit your life and daily routine as best suits you. For example, you choose one of 3 study models: In the full-time study, it takes a total of 6 semesters, i.e. 36 months, to complete your Bachelor's degree. In part-time study I, you study for 8 semesters until graduation. Or you opt for part-time study II and give yourself 12 semesters until you obtain your Bachelor's degree.
You receive study materials at IU for each module enrollment as printed study booklets. All materials are also available digitally. The IU Interactive Books are innovative learning scripts enriched with video clips and quiz questions at the end of a lesson. Depending on the module, study materials are supplemented with podcasts, live tutorials, and video content in the form of so-called Shortcasts. You can access the IU Interactive Books through the convenient IU Learn app.
In many modules, virtual teaching events are also offered, allowing you to interactively engage with your fellow students and lecturers.
Very practical and flexible: the option to take module exams in the form of online exams. You can take an online exam 24/7, 7 days a week, at a time that is optimal for you after preparing well, for example, for an exam in building construction. Additionally, we operate around 40 exam centres in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland where you can also take your exams in the traditional way on-site.
