For the 120-ECTS variant in 4 semesters, these requirements apply:
- You have a first degree in Industrial Engineering. Permissible degrees include degrees in Industrial Engineering, Technical Business Administration, Industrial Management, Business Informatics, and Engineering Management.
- Your final grade should be at least "satisfactory".
For the shortened 90-ECTS variant, these requirements apply:
- You have a first degree in Industrial Engineering with a final grade of at least "satisfactory". Permissible degrees include degrees in Industrial Engineering, Technical Business Administration, Industrial Management, Business Informatics, and Engineering Management.
- Your first degree should cover at least 210 ECTS or more.
- If your first degree is 180 ECTS, you must complete additional courses worth 30 ECTS. Alternatively, you must demonstrate at least 1 year of relevant work experience.

Study Concept: How the Part-Time Business Engineering Degree Programme at IU Works
The online study programme in Business Engineering at IU International University can be flexibly adjusted to fit into your life and daily routine the best way possible. For example, you can choose one of 3 study models: In the full-time programme, you need a total of 3 semesters or 4 semesters, depending on the study variant, until you graduate with a master's degree. In part-time programme I, you study for a total of 4 or 6 semesters until graduation. Or you can opt for part-time programme II and take 5 or 8 semesters to complete your master's degree.
With each module registered, you will receive study materials at IU in the form of printed study booklets. All materials are also available digitally. The IU Interactive Books are innovative learning scripts enriched with video clips and quiz questions at the end of a lesson. Depending on the module, study materials are complemented by podcasts, live tutorials, and video content in the form of so-called Shortcasts. You can access the IU Interactive Books via the convenient IU Learn app.
In many modules, virtual teaching events are also offered, allowing you to interact interactively with your fellow students and lecturers.
Particularly convenient and flexible: the opportunity to take module exams in the form of online exams. You can take an online exam 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, at a time when you feel optimally prepared for the exam, for example, in building construction. Additionally, we operate about 40 exam centres in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, where you can also take your exams in the traditional way.
