The postgraduate master's programme in Digital Forensics is a collaborative project between Albstadt-Sigmaringen University, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, and Saarland University. The course is designed for professionals in law enforcement, defense attorneys, public prosecutors, tax authorities, as well as employees of customs and immigration authorities, forensic offices, companies, IT service providers, hospitals, clinics, banks, and insurance companies. It is structured as a distance learning course that can be completed part-time over seven semesters, combining self-study periods with on-site events.
The curriculum covers areas such as introduction to computer science, IT security and cyber attacks, basics of digital forensics, operating system forensics, network forensics, and computer criminal law. Participants receive comprehensive study materials and access to digital tools and a learning platform. The programme is completed with a master's thesis and defense, leading to the academic degree Master of Science in Digital Forensics.
