The Master's programme "Cyber Security" at Wilhelm Büchner University is a consecutive, application-oriented programme that focuses on scientific concepts, methods, and techniques of computer science with a focus on Cyber Security. The programme aims to impart skills and competencies needed by IT security experts in companies and authorities. It also includes scientific fundamentals and methods of all essential tasks in the context of Cyber Security.

Your Master's programme at WBH is modular in content. You will study thematically closed subject areas (modules) to which credit points are assigned according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). The number of credit points allocated to each module depends on the scope of the module and the associated workload. All credit points you earn will be credited to you, and you will receive proof of this. Your achievements are thus comparable and recognised internationally.

The course is structured as follows:

  • 1st semester: Research Methods and Project Management, Cyber Security Technology and Fundamentals, Cyber Security Attacks - Red Team, Cyber Security Defense - Blue Team, Cyber Security Exercises
  • 2nd semester: Elective module from the area of Interdisciplinary Competences, Research work including Specialised Seminar, Project work, Elective module 1 - Core Area, Elective module 2 - Core Area
