Requirements
Prerequisite for admission to the mechanical engineering program at the TU Dresden is the general university entrance qualification (Abitur) or an equivalent university entrance qualification. The program is not subject to NC restrictions.
It is also possible to access the university without Abitur for prospective students who have a specific qualification from professional advancement training.
Distance Learning Mechanical Engineering, Technical University of Dresden
The mechanical engineering degree programme at the Technical University of Dresden is aimed at professionals who wish to obtain an academic degree in engineering alongside their profession. Graduates of the programme are employed in construction and product development, plant planning, production preparation and production, machine and plant maintenance, management and marketing.
Study Contents
The mechanical engineering programme imparts knowledge in the fields of technical mechanics, technical thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and electrotechnology as well as the fundamentals of mechanical engineering, such as design and manufacturing, machine elements and materials engineering.
In the ninth semester, students choose one of the study specialisations:
- General and constructive mechanical engineering
- Energy technology
- Aerospace engineering
- Production technology
Course Structure
The course is conducted through distance learning and self-study, supplemented by on-site phases.
Tuition Fees
The tuition fees amount to 182.10 euros per semester. Additional material fees apply.
