Admission requirements

For admission, you need a university degree of at least 180 ECTS. These must include at least 40 credit points from (business) informatics modules or, alternatively, relevant professional experience in the areas of software development or business and network administration can be credited. Up to 10 credit points can be considered for one year of relevant professional experience.

Current employment is also required.

Details

The Master's programme "Cyber Security Management" at FOM University offers comprehensive training in the field of IT security. The programme is particularly suitable for professionals who want to deepen their skills in the field of cyber security and aim for a specialist or leadership position. Participants are continuously supported in transferring the study contents to their professional practice.

The study contents include, among others, Enterprise Security Architecture, Cyber Attack & Threat Management, and Cryptology. Students learn how to plan, implement, and monitor IT security strategies. Furthermore, they deal with legal aspects of IT security and develop Enterprise Continuity and Crisis Management strategies.

1st Semester: Enterprise Security Architecture, Cyber Attack & Threat Management, Change & Innovation, Research Methodology in STEM Programmes.

2nd Semester: Cryptology, Security Analytics & Defense, Sustainability.

3rd Semester: Security Governance, IT Law & Compliance, Information Security Strategy, Awareness & Social Engineering, Research Forum, Transfer Assessment: Transfer Report 1.

4th Semester: Enterprise Continuity & Crisis Management, Audit Project: Security Standards & Maturity Models, Master's Thesis Proposal, Transfer Assessment: Transfer Report 2 and Competence Check 2.

Thesis: Master's Thesis and Colloquium, Transfer Assessment: Theory-Practice Reflection Exam.

Successful completion of the programme awards the nationally and internationally recognised Master of Science degree and qualifies for a doctorate.
