The University of Potsdam, founded in 1991, has established itself as a research-intensive institution in the German academic landscape. With more than 20,000 students, it is the largest university in the state of Brandenburg. It is divided into seven faculties: the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Law, Economics and Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Digital Engineering (since 2017), and the Faculty of Health Sciences (since 2018). A hallmark of the university is its close collaboration with renowned Max Planck, Leibniz, and Helmholtz research institutes in the region. With over 10,000 scientists and academics, as well as more than 40 scientific research institutions, Potsdam has established itself not only as a World Heritage city with its castles and gardens but also as a dynamic "city of science" in the vibrant Berlin-Brandenburg metropolitan area.

The university offers a wide variety of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs. Currently, there are more than 25 international master's programs, 18 of which are taught in English. As a publicly accredited university, all programs except for some continuing education courses are tuition-free, with only a small administrative fee charged.

The University of Potsdam is known for its interdisciplinary research and teaching. For example, the Faculty of Law offers a wide range of basic and compulsory courses, while the Faculty of Philosophy offers programs in various disciplines such as Jewish Studies, Philosophy, History, and Arts. Particularly noteworthy is the "School of Jewish Theology," which, as the first university in Germany, included Jewish theology in its curriculum. The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences is known for its programs in biology, toxicology, and geo-studies. In the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, business administration, economics, political and administrative sciences, sociology, and business informatics are important study areas. The Digital Engineering Faculty, founded in cooperation with the Hasso Plattner Institute, is the first privately financed faculty of a public university in Germany and offers programs in IT Systems Engineering, Data Engineering, Digital Health, and Cybersecurity.

The part-time MBA program at the University of Potsdam offers a flexible structure designed specifically for working professionals. It includes distance learning phases combined with on-site sessions, mainly held on weekends in the form of study blocks. This structure allows students to balance their studies with professional commitments.

The program offers various specialisations, including: MBA Biotechnology and Medical Technology, MBA Information Technology, MBA Innovative Technologies, MBA Innovative Healthcare Management, and MBA Negotiation Management.

These specialisations are aimed at equipping professionals and leaders in their respective industries with current knowledge and competent skills. The on-site sessions are held all day on Fridays and Saturdays. Renowned lecturers from academia and industry deliver the specific contents of the modules and work on them together with the students. This direct exchange not only promotes knowledge transfer but also helps build a professional network.
