The Jade University was founded in 2009 and comprises the three campuses of Wilhelmshaven, Oldenburg, and Elsfleth. With the motto "Studying Better," the university advocates for practice-oriented and innovative teaching, closely interconnected with the economy, research institutions, and other organizations. The university offers a wide range of subjects, from technology and engineering to business and health sciences.

The Jade University has around 6,400 students enrolled in 42 bachelor's and 16 master's programs. Approximately 3,600 students are based in Wilhelmshaven, 2,200 in Oldenburg, and 600 in Elsfleth. The university employs a total of about 650 staff, including over 200 professors. Collaborations with 90 international partner universities also allow for study experiences abroad.
