- Or: At least a two-year recognised vocational training in Germany plus at least three years of work experience (both full-time). For non-professionally relevant training, a trial period is planned to demonstrate your ability to study.
Evidence of language skills: If your higher education entrance qualification was not obtained in German, proof of German language proficiency (e.g. TestDaF minimum level 3 in each area, DSH-1, Telc German B2, ÖSD B2) is required. The certificate should generally not be more than five years old. IU also accepts equivalent evidence after individual examination.
Mandatory pre-internship: Before starting your studies, you must provide evidence of a relevant, at least six-week (30 working days) pre-internship in a field-related company. This internship is not required if you have completed a professionally relevant training or can demonstrate relevant work experience. Recognised pre-internships conducted for applications to other universities may be recognised. Details are regulated by the internship regulations (PPO) of the university.
