The part-time course Mechatronics Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) at the Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences offers a comprehensive engineering education with a strong focus on the practical application of mechatronic systems. The aim of the programme is the intelligent networking of mechanics, electronics, and informatics for the development of modern, innovative products.
The course is designed for professionals who wish to obtain an internationally recognized engineering degree alongside their professional activities. It provides a balanced mix of self-study, project phases, virtual learning components, and presence phases (Blended Learning).
The study content includes fundamental and in-depth knowledge in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and information processing, as well as special mechatronic applications. The modular structure of the course includes, among other things, the following content:
Analysis Linear Algebra Physics (with laboratory) Machine Elements Statics and Strength of Materials Materials Science (with laboratory) Electrical Engineering (with laboratory) Programming, Data Structures, Algorithms (with laboratory) Kinematics and Kinetics Measurement of Mechanical Quantities (with laboratory) Components and Circuit Technology Robotics, Actuator and Sensor Technology (with laboratory) Technical English Object-Oriented Software Development (with laboratory) Power Electronics Control and Regulation Engineering, Electrical Drive Technology (with laboratory) Practical Work or Elective Subject Bachelor's Thesis with ColloquiumThe standard period of study is eight semesters. During the lecture period, there are two presence events in Kaiserslautern per semester, supplemented by approximately ten online events on Fridays and two Saturdays, as well as two one-week block events during the lecture-free period.
