- university and non-university preliminary performances can be recognized
These are the prerequisites for the Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering
For the B.Eng. Plastics Engineering at Wilhelm Bücher University, there are various ways to access:
Access option No. 1: You have the general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, or the subject-restricted higher education entrance qualification.
Access option No. 2: You have a university admission qualification recognized as equivalent by the Hessian Ministry of Culture (e.g. a master's degree or a diploma as a state-certified technician).
Access option No. 3: Studying as an auditor: You start your guest studies at our university without the mentioned three access options and, after 2 performance semesters, take the university entrance examination (HZP). To do this, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- You have completed a at least two-year professional training regulated by the Vocational Training Act, the Crafts Code, or federal or state law in a field related to the desired course of study.
- You have subsequently worked full-time for at least two years in a field related to the desired course of study.
If you aim to study in a field that is not related to the completed training or professional activity, the knowledge acquired through training and professional activity must be expanded or deepened through qualified further training with a workload of at least 400 hours in a field related to the desired course of study.
After successfully passing the university entrance examination (HZP), we will change your status from auditor to regular student.

These are the study contents and the course of studies
Your Bachelor's degree programme in Plastic Engineering at WBH is structured in a modular way. You will study thematically closed material areas (modules) to which credit points are assigned according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). The number of credit points assigned to each module depends on the scope of a module and the associated workload. All credit points you achieve will be credited to you and you will receive proof of this. Your achievements are thus comparable and recognised - also internationally.
The course is structured as follows:
- 1st semester: Mathematics I, Introduction to Natural Scientific Engineering Fundamentals, Basics of Computer Science, Basics of Business Administration and Legal Foundations, Introduction Project
- 2nd semester: Mathematics II, Natural Scientific Engineering Fundamentals, Introduction to Electrical Engineering and Electronics, Communication and Management (incl. Electives I/II)
- 3rd semester: Mathematics II, Natural Scientific Engineering Fundamentals, Introduction to Electrical Engineering and Electronics, Communication and Management (incl. Electives I/II)
- 4th semester: Design and Machine Elements I, Control Engineering with Lab, Polymer Chemistry, Heat and Mass Transfer
- 5th semester: CAD Techniques and Finite Element Simulation, Plastic Additives, Plastic Processing I, Plastic Processing II
- 6th semester: Plastic Analytics, Plastic Processing III with Lab, Plastic Recycling
- 7th semester: Elective Area III, Engineering Project, Bachelor Thesis and Colloquium
You choose the Elective Module I from these topics: English, Spanish, Intercultural Competence.
You choose the Elective Module II from these topics: Quality Management, Maintenance Management, Investment and Financing.
