The Bachelor's programme in Process Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering) is designed for individuals who are interested in understanding how high-quality and sustainable products are efficiently and climate-neutrally produced from raw materials. Students learn to plan, control, and monitor modern manufacturing processes, as well as to sustainably develop and operate the necessary equipment. The programme is offered as a part-time distance learning course and comprises 180 ECTS points. The standard period of study is 8 semesters.
The content of the programme is broad and covers, among other things, the fundamentals of chemical, biological, mechanical, and thermal process engineering, mass and heat transfer, process, plant, safety, and energy engineering, as well as automation and electrical engineering. Business management topics such as business administration, marketing, and quality management are also part of the curriculum.
The part-time study programme allows students to deepen their theoretical and practical knowledge during the on-site sessions, which take place four times per semester on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as in one on-site week. In addition, guided self-study via e-learning platforms is offered. Examinations are taken during the on-site sessions.
The target group for this programme includes working professionals who wish to further qualify themselves, as well as individuals interested in the fields of chemistry, energy, pharmaceuticals, food industry, mechanical and plant engineering, or municipal supply and disposal. Graduates of the programme have numerous career opportunities in various industrial and economic sectors as well as the option to pursue a further Master's degree.
