These are the requirements for the Bachelor's in IT Security
For the B.Sc. in IT Security at Wilhelm Bücher University, there are various ways to access:
Access option No. 1: You have the general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, or the subject-restricted higher education entrance qualification.
Access option No. 2: You have a university admission qualification recognized as equivalent by the Hessian Ministry of Culture (e.g. a master's degree or a qualification as a state-certified technician).
Access option No. 3: Studying as an auditor: You start your guest studies at our university without the mentioned three accesses and take the university entrance examination after 2 semesters of performance. For this, you must meet all the following requirements:
- You have completed a vocational training lasting at least two years regulated by the Vocational Training Act, the Crafts Code, or federal or state law in a field related to the desired study programme.
- You have worked in a field related to the desired study programme for at least two years following the completion of your vocational training.
If you aim for a study programme that is not related to the completed training or professional activity, the knowledge acquired through education and professional activity must be expanded or deepened through qualified further education in a field related to the desired study programme with a scope of at least 400 hours.
After successful university entrance examination, we will change your status from auditor to regular student.

Your Bachelor's degree programme in IT Security at WBH is structured in a modular way. You will study thematically closed subject areas (modules) to which credit points are assigned according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). The number of credit points allocated to each module depends on the scope of the module and the associated workload. All credit points you achieve will be credited to you and you will receive a certificate about them. Your achievements are thus comparable and recognised internationally.

- 1st Semester: Fundamentals of Computer Science, Fundamentals of Object-Oriented Programming, Operating Systems and Computer Architecture, Mathematical Foundations for Computer Scientists, Introduction Project for Computer Scientists
- 2nd Semester: Introduction to IT Security, Software Engineering, Advanced Mathematics, Law and Business Administration
- 3rd Semester: Security of Information and Applications, Information Technology, Elective Area II, Project Management and Scientific Work
- 4th Semester: Security of Information and Applications, Information Technology, Elective Area II, Project Management and Scientific Work
- 5th Semester: Distributed Information Processing (Part 2), Network Security, Communication and Leadership, Elective Area I Elective Module 1, Project Work
- 6th Semester: IT Security Management, Cyber Security with Laboratory, Elective Area I Elective Module 2, Bachelor's Thesis and Colloquium
