Admission requirements
Admission is granted to those who have passed the bachelor's examination with at least 210 ECTS credits (180 ECTS credits subject to conditions*) or can provide evidence of an academic degree recognized as equivalent under § 10 RPO, or who have obtained a diploma at a university in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Admission to the master's program "Applied digitalization" at Neubrandenburg University is subject to the following additional admission requirements:
- at least one year of professional experience in relevant areas of study.
- relevant practical work during the part-time studies of at least 20 hours per week.
- a letter of motivation that also demonstrates a special motivation for studying.
* If the number of 210 ECTS credits cannot be proven, it is possible to acquire additional ECTS credits through attending events at Neubrandenburg University or by accrediting equivalent achievements. The proof must be provided by the end of the 3rd semester and will be specified as a condition in the admission notification. In case of doubt, the examination board will decide whether the condition has been met.
Details
The part-time, online-supported Master's programme lasts for 4 semesters (90 ECTS) and is completed with the professional qualification of "Master of Arts".
The programme is structured as follows:
Compulsory modules (each 5 ECTS)
Subject-related elective modules (each 5 ECTS)
Two practical projects (15 ECTS)
Master's thesis with accompanying colloquium (25 ECTS)
Within the compulsory modules, subject-specific knowledge and competencies for digitisation in general are imparted and current developments are highlighted. In addition, there is an integration into central topics such as digital media and data protection. The area of social structural change is also introduced and presented in relation to digitisation.
The elective modules offer students a professional theoretical reference in 5 blocks and place digitisation and social structural change at the intersection with practice.
The practical projects offer a practice-oriented application of the knowledge acquired during the programme, with a focus on digitisation in practice. They focus on initiating and implementing change processes with a focus on digitisation or data and knowledge management in companies and organizations.
The Master's thesis concludes the programme with the demonstration of scientific engagement with a topic as practical as possible, focusing on issues related to digitisation and social structural change.
