Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or a comparable qualification (e.g. a completed degree in education, which includes teaching authorization for secondary level II in the subject of Computer Science). "Hyphen" computer science programs such as Bioinformatics, Geoinformatics, Technical Informatics, Business Informatics, etc. do not meet the admission requirements.

The Master's programme in Computer Science at the FernUniversität in Hagen leads to a Master of Science degree and lasts for 4 semesters. This part-time programme is aimed at individuals who already hold a successful Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Science.

The programme is accredited by AQAS and offers a wide range of modules in areas such as "Fundamentals of Computer Science", "Computer Systems", "Information Systems and Artificial Intelligence", "Software Engineering and Programming Languages", and "Operating Systems, Distributed and Cooperative Systems".
