Admission requirements

Admission requirement for the Master's distance learning programme in Electrical Engineering is a first relevant university degree (Bachelor's degree). In the case of a non-dual Bachelor's programme, nine months of relevant work experience is required, while in the case of a dual Bachelor's programme, three months of relevant work experience are necessary. Relevant degrees include Bachelor's or Diploma degrees in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Technical Computer Science, or related fields. 

Interested individuals with professional qualifications can be admitted through the special entry programme "Technician/ Master to Master". The requirement is the completion of a corresponding advanced training programme as well as passing an admission test.

Details

The advanced Master's programme in Electrical Engineering is designed for engineers who wish to deepen their academic education while studying part-time. The target group consists primarily of professionals from the metal, automotive, and electrical industries. Depending on their undergraduate degree, the programme offers a four- or six-semester study option and covers practical content in core areas of electrical engineering.

The programme is divided into four main phases. Initially, students acquire interdisciplinary skills, including business communication and the design of electronic systems. In the second phase, students delve into forward-looking disciplines such as automation technology, microelectronics, energy technology, and medical technology. The third section focuses on project development, software and hardware engineering, as well as business and legal fundamentals. Finally, students write their Master's thesis.

1st Semester: Communication, Signals, Systems, Simulation, and Energy

2nd Semester: Object-oriented Programming and Signals, Specialization Module 1, Specialization Module 2

3rd Semester: Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, Specialization Module 3, Specialization Module 4
