Details
The Master's programme in Electrical Engineering (Master of Engineering) at the University of Applied Sciences South Westphalia offers a practice-oriented further education for working graduates of a Bachelor's or Diploma programme in Electrical Engineering or similar fields such as Energy Technology or Mechatronics. The programme is offered in two variants: a six-semester and a five-semester version, depending on individual admission requirements.
The target group includes professionals who want to deepen their technical and methodological skills alongside their professional activities. Graduates qualify for leadership roles in the industry, especially in areas such as product development, manufacturing, and technical sales. Preferred fields of activity include companies in the automotive industry, system technology, optical technologies, electrical engineering and electronics, building system technology, and microsystems technology.
Study contents include mathematical-physical methods, methods of electrical engineering and information technology such as Mechatronic Systems and Communication Systems, as well as basic business administration and personnel management. The modules are divided into mandatory and elective modules, which can be adapted to the focus of the programme. A practical project and accompanying seminar are also part of the curriculum.
The courses are divided into self-study and regular face-to-face events, which mostly take place on Saturdays. Exercises and internships complement theoretical knowledge with practical applications.
The completion of the programme is done through a master's thesis and a colloquium. Graduates of the Master's programme in Electrical Engineering receive a "Master of Engineering" degree, which also opens up opportunities for further studies and higher positions.
