Admission Requirements

With your B.A. in Electrical and Information Engineering, you could work as an automation technician, in the field of Industry 4.0, or as a project manager in production

You will be admitted to the distance learning course in Electrical and Information Engineering if you can demonstrate general university entrance qualification, a subject-specific university entrance qualification, or the university of applied sciences entrance qualification or a comparable university entrance qualification according to the Baden-Württemberg State University Law.

Even with a vocational school qualification such as the State-Certified Technician or the State-Certified Business Administrator, or with an advanced training qualification such as the Certified Technical Business Administrator from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) or the Certified Business Specialist from the IHK, you can be enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering distance learning course. You will then participate in a counselling session.

Alternatively, you have completed a 2-year vocational training and have at least 3 years of relevant work experience in social work. You will then take a university aptitude test before being enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering distance learning course.

In addition, we recommend that you have English skills at level B2 and solid mathematical knowledge at the level of university entrance qualification.

Procedure

The AKAD distance learning course combines traditional distance learning with modern digital learning methods.

You can start the AKAD distance learning course flexibly at any time. With your entry into distance learning, you choose one of three study variants: The Sprint variant corresponds to full-time study and lasts 6 semesters or 36 months. The Standard variant lasts 8 semesters or 48 months and is particularly suitable if you are employed. The Stretch variant lasts like a part-time study 12 semesters or 72 months. In all 3 study models, you can extend up to 24 months of the standard study period without additional tuition fees if you wish.

The AKAD distance learning course is a study program that is tailored to your personal preferences and learning style. A study at AKAD University consists of these components:

  • Traditional Distance Learning: Your study materials will be sent to you by mail. You work through the study booklets independently and complete submission tasks. If you have questions, you can contact your supervisors.
