These are the admission requirements for the Master's programme in Machine Learning

The Master's in Machine Learning lasts 4 semesters in full-time study, 6–8 semesters in part-time study. A first degree with a STEM focus is required, such as a bachelor's degree or a diploma. If your first degree has a different focus, you can still be enrolled through an entrance exam.

Your first degree should have a minimum grade of "satisfactory."

For this English-language version, you must also prove your English language skills*. You can demonstrate your English language skills, for example, through TOEFL (minimum 80 points), IELTS (minimum Level 6), a passed Duolingo English Test (minimum 95 points), a Cambridge certificate (at least grade B overall), or an equivalent qualification.

*If you have already completed an English-language first degree or English is your native language, you do not need to provide separate proof.

The Master's program at IU International University is modular. A module typically comprises 5 credits (ECTS) and concludes with an examination performance, such as an exam or a written paper.

An important part of the program is flexibility, which allows students to complete the program either full-time or part-time while working. This way, you complete your Master's step by step - and even largely determine when you want to complete which module.

In full-time study, you can structure your study plan, for example, as follows:

As a specialization, you can either choose one of the recommended tracks or select from various modules in different electives - for example, these specializations:

*If you choose the modules from Electives C, all modules from this area must be completed. Mixed forms between internships and Electives C are not possible.

Study Concept: How the Part-Time Study in Machine Learning at IU Works

You can adapt the online study Machine Learning at IU International University flexibly to your life and daily routine to suit you best. For example, you can choose from 3 study models: In full-time studies, you need a total of 4 semesters, i.e., 24 months, to complete your Master's degree. In part-time studies I, you study for 6 semesters until graduation. Or you can opt for part-time studies II and take up to 8 semesters to complete your Master's.

You will receive study materials from IU with each module enrollment as printed study booklets. All materials are, of course, also available digitally. The IU Interactive Books are innovative study scripts enriched with video clips and quiz questions at the end of a lesson. Depending on the module, study materials are complemented by podcasts, live tutorials, and video content in the form of so-called Shortcasts. You access the IU Interactive Books via the convenient IU Learn app.

In many modules, virtual teaching events are also offered, allowing you to interactively engage with your fellow students and lecturers.

Particularly practical and flexible is the option to take module exams in the form of online exams. You can take an online exam 24/7, 7 days a week - at a time when you feel best prepared for the exam, for example, in construction. Additionally, we operate about 40 exam centers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, where you can also take your exams in a traditional in-person format.
