Admission requirements

Prerequisite for enrolling in the consecutive Master's programme in Data Science is a successfully completed university degree in

  • Computer Science,
  • Data Science,
  • Mathematics,
  • Business Informatics,
  • Industrial Engineering,
  • or an equivalent qualification.

Foreign students interested in studying at the university need to provide proof of their German language proficiency. There are several ways to provide this proof, such as

  • DSH-2 (German language examination for university entrance),
  • C1 according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages),
  • TestDaF level 4 (Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache),
  • or a school leaving certificate equivalent to German university entrance qualification.

Recommended knowledge:

  • Solid knowledge of advanced mathematics and statistics, sound knowledge of academic work, especially in terms of independently writing academic papers.
  • Solid knowledge of computer science.
  • English skills at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
  • Missing recommended prerequisites can be acquired concurrently during a preparatory course.
