Admission requirements

The study programme can be started if a first job-qualifying university degree (bachelor's or diploma course with a scope of at least 180 ECTS points) or a degree from a state or state-recognized vocational academy in one of the following subject areas is proven: Engineering Natural Sciences Applied Mathematics Business Administration

If at least 90 ECTS credits in one of the above-mentioned subject areas have been acquired in a basic course of study in another subject area, an application for admission to the study programme can also be submitted.

The programme is designed for graduates of technical, natural science, or business management courses who already possess expert knowledge in application areas of Artificial Intelligence and wish to further qualify themselves while working.

As a key technology of digitalisation, Artificial Intelligence opens up diverse career prospects in almost all areas of public and economic life. A Master's degree in Applied Artificial Intelligence prepares graduates for a career in future-proof areas such as autonomous driving, digital surgical techniques, and ChatBots. Additionally, it provides access to the higher civil service and qualifies individuals for a doctorate.

The programme includes modules such as Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, Programming for AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Analysis and Visualization, Natural Language Processing, and many more. A special emphasis is placed on practical projects and the application of modern methods and tools of Artificial Intelligence. The curriculum is complemented by elective courses that allow for specialisation in particular subject areas.

The standard period of study is six semesters, during which students work on learning materials through self-study and regularly participate in face-to-face events. Assessments consist of exams, oral examinations, presentations, and written assignments. The study programme also includes a Master's thesis and a colloquium.
