Admission requirements
For the degree programme in Business Informatics, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
Allgemeine Hochschulreife (general higher education entrance qualification)
Fachhochschulreife (higher education entrance qualification from a technical college)
Passed master craftsman examination
Mittlerer Schulabschluss (minimum qualification for university entrance, equivalent to the Realschulabschluss) and a qualified qualification from a recognized vocational training program of at least 3 years, which demonstrates an average, overall, or final grade of 2.5 or better (if these grades are not listed, the arithmetic mean of the individual subject grades applies)
Completion of a professional development course of at least 400 teaching hours, a technical school, or a vocational or administrative academy*
Final examination in a state-recognized training occupation followed by at least 2 years of professionally related work experience and passing a separate university entrance examination*
*according to the Regulation on the Access of Vocationally Qualified Persons to Universities in the State of Hesse
More detailed information on specific qualifications can be provided upon request. Applicants who do not meet the above requirements may initially participate in the study as a guest auditor if they have been admitted to the university entrance qualification examination.

Business informatics is a subfield of applied informatics. It links content from business administration and informatics, incorporating aspects of legal sciences and engineering. The interdisciplinary approach makes business informaticians highly sought-after professionals in the job market.
The interdisciplinary Bachelor's programme "Business Informatics" (B.Sc.) prepares you for your entry into the workforce as a 7-semester (online) distance learning course. The programme's content is very practical and comes from the fields of mathematics, informatics, business administration, and legal sciences. In addition, through the Technical English module, you will enhance your language skills. The goal is to acquire a broad knowledge of information and communication systems. You will learn programming techniques for software development as well as details about process management of data streams. Finally, you will gain insights into legal issues and learn how to integrate business requirements into your work intensively. You will qualify to take on responsible tasks in departments and projects.
During your studies, you can also choose your personal, professionally oriented focus to further deepen your skills.

Course of Study
At the DIPLOMA University, you have the option to study the Bachelor's programme in Business Informatics in one of two variants, as an online course or as an on-campus course.
The online distance learning programme at DIPLOMA University is designed according to the "Blended Learning" principle. This means that you work on the study materials with the help of study booklets and attend seminars. These typically take place on 12 to 14 Saturdays per semester - occasionally also during the week in the evening. In the online study, these seminars take place as live online seminars. You can also take your exams online or at an examination centre of your choice.
Costs & Commencement of Studies
The (online) distance learning programme at DIPLOMA University starts every year in the summer semester (April) and winter semester (October) of a year. The start of the study is also possible at any other time - after individual examination.
The on-campus programme starts once a year in the winter semester (October).
