Admission requirements

Interested individuals must pass an entrance exam for admission to the master's programme. In addition, a minimum of two years of work experience after obtaining a technician's or master's qualification should be demonstrated.

The programme with a preparatory course can be started immediately after obtaining a technician's or master's degree.

Details

The 'Technician / Master to Master' programme at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences is specifically designed for professionally qualified individuals such as state-certified technicians and master craftsmen. It allows direct entry into postgraduate master's programmes in electrical engineering and reliability engineering without the need for a previous bachelor's degree. The programme combines part-time learning with face-to-face events, study materials, and an online platform. The standard period of study is an optional preparatory semester plus six semesters of master's study. Upon completion, the academic degree of Master of Science (Electrical Engineering) or Master of Engineering (Reliability Engineering) is awarded. The total tuition fees amount to 13,200 euros, plus a semester fee.

The M.Sc. Electrical Engineering programme covers 120 ECTS credits with the following contents:

1st Semester: Communication, Signals, Systems, Simulation, and Energy

2nd Semester: Object-Oriented Programming and Signals, Specialisation Module 1, Specialisation Module 2

3rd Semester: Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, Specialisation Module 3, Specialisation Module 4

4th Semester: Project Work, Elective Module Selected Applications

5th Semester: Business Administration, Law

6th Semester: Master's Module

 

The M.Eng. Reliability Engineering programme also covers 120 ECTS credits with the following contents:

1st Semester: Communication, System Development
