Admission requirements
The course of studies in Industrial Engineering admits those who meet one of the following requirements:
• General qualification for university entrance
• University of applied sciences entrance qualification
• Passed master craftsman's examination
• Intermediate school-leaving certificate (at least a secondary school leaving certificate) and qualified completion of a recognized vocational training lasting at least 3 years, which shows an average, total or final grade of 2.5 or better (if these grades are not specified, the arithmetic mean of the individual subject grades applies)
• Completion of a professional advanced training course of at least 400 lessons, a technical school, or a vocational or administrative academy*
• Final examination in a state-recognized training occupation with a subsequent professional activity of at least 2 years related to the course of studies and passing a separate university entrance examination*
*according to the regulation on access to universities for professionally qualified individuals in the state of Hesse
Further information on specific qualifications will be provided upon request. Applicants who do not meet the mentioned requirements can initially participate in the study as an auditor if they have been admitted to the university entrance examination. For foreign qualifications, equivalence must be proven for admission.

The interdisciplinary Bachelor's degree programme "Industrial Engineering" (B.Eng.) prepares you for professional life through a 7-semester (online) distance learning course. During your studies, you acquire knowledge to optimize processes at the interface between technology and business administration. You develop business and engineering competencies, acquire knowledge of materials and constructions, manufacturing techniques, and learn about relevant content of electrical engineering and business informatics. In addition, you gain insights into legal fundamentals. Furthermore, you improve your technical English skills.
During your studies, you can also choose your personal, professionally oriented focus to further deepen your skills.

Course of Study
At the DIPLOMA University, you have the opportunity to study the Bachelor's degree programme Industrial Engineering in one of three variants: online study, distance learning on-site, or face-to-face study.
The (online) distance learning course at the DIPLOMA University is designed according to the "blended learning" principle. This means that you work on the study contents with the help of study booklets and attend seminars. These usually take place on 12 to 14 Saturdays per semester – occasionally also during the week in the evening. In the online study, these are conducted as live online seminars. You can also take your exams online or at an exam centre of your choice. In the distance learning on-site, you attend real presence seminars and exams at your chosen study centre – in Regenstauf.
Costs & Study Start
The (online) distance learning course at the DIPLOMA University starts every year in the summer semester (April) and winter semester (October) of a year. The start of the study is also possible at any other time after an individual examination.
