Admission requirements
In order to be admitted to the study programme Industrial Engineering, you need to have a university entrance qualification in accordance with § 65 of the Higher Education Act of Rhineland-Palatinate. This can be achieved through:

The degree programme in Industrial Engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern aims to provide a practice-oriented education for engineers, combining knowledge from both engineering and business disciplines. Graduates are prepared to work at the interface of technology and business, including roles in technical management and sectors such as management consulting, banking, insurance, and the public sector. The programme places a stronger emphasis on engineering sciences compared to business studies (approximately 2:1).
The programme is modular and covers the following subjects:
Basic Sciences and Programming Statics and Strength of Materials, Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics Materials Science and Machine Elements Quality Management Work Science, Introduction to Business Administration, Finance and Accounting Operations Research, Investment and Finance, Marketing and Sales Controlling, Business Strategies Mechanical and Thermal Process Engineering, Apparatus Construction, Plant Design Manufacturing Technology, Logistics, Production Organization, Lean Management Company Project WorkIn the final semester, students write their bachelor's thesis and conclude their studies with a colloquium. The standard period of study is eight semesters. The programme follows a blended learning approach, combining self-study, project phases, virtual learning components, and face-to-face sessions. During the lecture period, there are two in-person events and around ten online events, as well as approximately two Saturday appointments at the University of Kaiserslautern. In the semester breaks, two block events are offered per year.
The bachelor's programme consists of 180 ECTS points. Upon successful completion, graduates are awarded the academic degree Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.). Graduates have the opportunity to pursue a master's degree.
