Admission requirements
Admission requirement for the Master's program in Life Science Engineering (Master of Science) is proof of a first qualifying degree with a diploma or bachelor's degree (180 credits) in engineering or natural sciences from a state-recognized university.
Applicants who have not obtained their educational qualification at a German-speaking institution must also provide proof of sufficient German language skills, for example through a successfully completed recognized test such as TestDaF 4-4-4-4, Goethe Institute C1, Telc GmbH C1, or DSH 2 or an equivalent certificate.

The consecutive Master's degree programme in Life Science Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences South Westphalia at the Iserlohn campus is aimed at employees in the manufacturing Life Science industry who already have initial work experience following a university degree, as well as graduates of natural science bachelor's programmes. The programme was designed in close collaboration with the Life Science industry and its associations to meet the practical requirements, especially in the areas of biotechnology, medical technology, pharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics and analytics.
The qualification objectives of the programme particularly reflect those technical requirements that dominate in all GMP-relevant (Good Manufacturing Practice) areas. The three thematic pillars of the programme - Quality Development, Biotechnology, and Engineering - impart applied and in-depth knowledge of essential processes in the Life Science industry.
