The distance learning course in Biology is aimed at laboratory technicians in biomolecular professions such as laboratory assistants, BTA, MTA, CTA or PTA who wish to further their professional development without giving up their careers. It is offered in collaboration with the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and leads to a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology.
The programme is designed to be completed alongside work and can be finished over a period of four to four and a half years. The curriculum consists of a total of 15 modules focusing on basic and advanced topics in Biology, requiring approximately ten hours of study per week.

Genetics Cell Biology Biochemistry Molecular Biology Laboratory Practical Work Project Work Bachelor ThesisThe distance learning programme is supported by study materials and regular online tutorials. There are two internship modules planned for the fourth year of study. The Bachelor thesis can be completed directly within a company.
The programme provides comprehensive preparation for a career in biotechnological and molecular biological research and practice. Upon completion of the programme and additional requirements, the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz awards the title of Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology.
