Admission requirements
For the further education distance learning course 'Energy Management' the following can be admitted:
1. Applicants with a university degree
2. Applicants without a university degree
For admission to the course, knowledge of the basics of economics as well as the basics of engineering is required. These skills can be acquired by taking corresponding preliminary courses\/bridging courses.
Details
The postgraduate distance learning course in Energy Management MSc provides a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of energy management and the economic expertise on which management decisions can be based.
The course can be studied full-time (4 semesters) or part-time (8 semesters).
Target Audience
The course is interdisciplinary and is aimed at graduates of engineering, business, or natural sciences programs. However, applicants from other fields may also be admitted if they have relevant professional experience.
Course Content
The course consists of 15 modules and is completed with a master's thesis covering the following topics:
Module 1: Applied Technical Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer
Module 2: Applied Electrical Energy Engineering
Module 3: Project and Quality Management
Module 4: Measurement and Control Engineering
Module 5: Integration and Management of Decentralized Energy Supply
Module 6: Rational Energy Use in Industry
Module 7: Energy Conversion, Storage, Transport, and Distribution
Module 8: Conventional Electricity, Heat, and Refrigeration Generation
Module 9: Renewable Energy Generation I - Bioenergy + Solar Energy
Module 10: Renewable Energy Generation II - Wind Energy + Geothermal Energy
Module 11: Energy Management
Module 12*: Energy Law
Module 13*: Energy Trading
Module 14*: Electromobility and Alternative Fuels for Mobile Applications
Module 15*: Energy Management in Buildings and Communities
*) One of the four elective modules must be chosen.
Enrolment: Annually for the winter semester. The start of the course is always on 01.10.
