Admission requirements

Prerequisite is the proof of a first professional qualifying degree obtained from a state-recognised university and subsequent, at least two years of relevant work experience.

Participants who have already obtained a university certificate as a laboratory manager, quality manager laboratory, or validation officer can have partial credits recognized in the master's programme.

Details

The Master of Science, offered by htw saar in cooperation with Dr. Klinkner & Partner GmbH, is aimed at scientists and technical professionals who aspire to a leadership position or wish to deepen their technical expertise. The programme goes beyond technical expertise to impart necessary skills in areas such as staff management, project management, work organisation, IT usage, lab optimisation, controlling, efficiency enhancement and quality management. These additional qualifications prepare students for complex tasks at the management level.

The programme includes modules in lab management, quality management and validation, which can also be obtained individually as certificates and later credited towards the master's degree. The degree requires the successful completion of three study papers and the preparation of a master's thesis applying the acquired knowledge to practical issues.

The flexible structure of the programme allows for the extension of studies over two to six semesters, enabling entry in both the summer and winter semesters, depending on the availability of places. The seminars take place at various locations in Germany, offering an opportunity for cross-location further education.

Graduates of the programme receive the academic degree of Master of Science upon successful completion, opening up enhanced career opportunities in the scientific and technical fields.
