Admission requirements
Access with 180 credits from the first degree
With a completed, undergraduate degree from a state or state-recognized university with a focus on business studies and at least 180 credits, you can be admitted if you
- have at least one year of relevant work experience after the first degree and can provide an additional 30 credits through further training measures OR
- have at least one year of qualified work experience after the first degree and complete recommended modules by the course management totaling up to 30 credits
Access with 210 credits from the first degree
With a completed, undergraduate degree from a state or state-recognized university with a focus on business studies and at least 210 credits, you can be admitted if you
- have at least one year of relevant work experience after the first degree
English language skills
- You have sufficient English language skills at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
Note:
University graduates who have completed an undergraduate degree or a master's degree without content in business studies must demonstrate a completed commercial vocational training or at least three years of work experience in a business-related environment.
In addition, they need a letter of motivation explaining the study motives, goals, personal background, and qualifying work experience for this course.
Details
The Master's degree programme in Business Law (LL.M.) is offered on a part-time basis at the European Distance University Hamburg and lasts a total of 24 months. The focus of the programme is on legal competencies in an economic context. Specific skills are taught through six profile areas, including HR Management & Labour Law, Mergers & Acquisitions, Media and Internet Law, Regulation, Insolvency Management, and Tax.
The programme aims to familiarise students with the relevant areas of business law so that they can identify risks and find interdisciplinary solutions. The target group comprises graduates in economics and related disciplines who work in companies, associations, or administration.
The programme is offered through distance learning and includes self-study as well as face-to-face seminars and virtual lectures.
