Study Contents & Modules: This is the Study Schedule in the Master's Contract Law
The master's programme at IU International University is modular in structure. A module typically consists of 5 credit points (ECTS) and concludes with an examination, such as an exam or a written paper. You progress through your master's one step at a time - and even largely determine when you want to complete each module.
In full-time studies, you could structure your study plan as follows, for example:
- 1st Semester: Legal Framework for Companies in the Digital Transformation, Design of Complex Commercial Contracts, Seminar: Tax Aspects of Contract Design, IPR and International Law, Civil Procedure and Conflict Resolution, Research Methodology
- 2nd Semester: Seminar: Legal Framework for Management Decisions, Elective Module A, Master's Thesis
As a specialisation, you can choose one of these specializations, for example: Antitrust Law; Insolvency Law, Stabilization, and Restructuring; Legal Risk and Contract Management.
Study Concept: How the Part-Time Contract Law Study Works at IU
You can adapt the online Contract Law study at IU International University flexibly to fit your life and daily routine as best suits you. For example, you can choose from one of 3 study models: In the full-time programme, you need a total of 2 semesters, i.e. 12 months, to complete your master's. In part-time programme I, you study for 3 semesters until completion. Or you opt for part-time programme II and take 4 semesters to complete your master's.
With each module enrollment at IU, you receive study materials as printed study booklets. All materials are also available digitally. The IU Interactive Books are innovative learning scripts enriched with video clips and quiz questions at the end of a lesson. Depending on the module, the study materials are supplemented with podcasts, live tutorials, and video content in the form of so-called shortcasts. You can access the IU Interactive Books via the practical IU Learn app.
In many modules, virtual teaching events are also offered, allowing you to interact interactively with your classmates and lecturers.
Especially convenient and flexible is the option to take module exams in the form of online exams. You can take an online exam 7 days a week, around the clock - and at a time when you feel optimally prepared for the exam, for example in Building Construction. We also operate about 40 exam centres in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, where you can also take your exams in a traditional on-site manner.
