Admission requirements
You basically need a completed university degree with at least six semesters, preferably in law, social sciences, or economic sciences. A qualified professional experience of at least one year is also required. Alternatively, you can apply without a first university degree, provided you have a university entrance qualification, relevant professional experience of at least five years, and pass an entrance examination at the university. Without a high school diploma, you also need to have completed a two-year vocational training in a suitable profession.
Details
The Master's programme in Care\/Guardianship\/Custodianship at the Berlin School of Economics and Law is aimed at individuals who are or wish to become legal representatives of people. The programme offers a solid interdisciplinary education that includes legal, economic, psychological, and social skills. The modular structure enables high flexibility and focuses on self-study supplemented by face-to-face events. As part of the blended learning concept, face-to-face sessions are held in blocks on weekends, while all other lectures and exams take place online.
During the course of the programme, four practical phases of five to seven weeks are integrated, which can be individually organised and potentially credited towards previously acquired professional experience. Upon completion of the programme, graduates are qualified for responsible positions in the field of legal representation, such as professional guardians, guardians, or custodians. They find employment in courts, guardianship associations, or similar institutions.
The programme supports part-time or flexible completion through the flexible scheduling of study times. The final theses correlate with the topics learned in the programme and with scientific methods.
