Admission requirements
In the Master of Laws programme, enrollment is possible for those who meet one of the following requirements:
- Obtained a Bachelor of Laws from the FernUniversität in Hagen
- Passed the First State Examination in Law
- Completed a legal studies programme with a minimum of 210 ECTS under the title Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or an equivalent degree at a university, of which at least 120 ECTS must have been earned with comparable legal content taught in the Bachelor of Laws programme at the FernUniversität in Hagen or
- Completed a legal studies programme with a minimum of 180 ECTS under the title Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or an equivalent degree at a university, of which at least 120 ECTS must have been earned with comparable legal content taught in the Bachelor of Laws programme at the FernUniversität in Hagen. In this case, at the beginning of the programme, additional study and examination achievements totaling 30 ECTS from the elective area according to § 12 (2) of the examination regulations for the Master of Laws programme must be successfully completed.

The Master of Laws at the FernUniversität in Hagen is a consecutive degree programme aimed at imparting comprehensive knowledge in the field of legal sciences. The target group primarily consists of individuals who have already completed a Bachelor's degree in legal sciences or a related field and wish to deepen their knowledge, with the possibility to set individual focal points.
The programme is modular in structure, allowing students to tailor their studies flexibly to their needs. There are a total of seven modules available, with four being mandatory and three others being chosen based on individual interests. These modules cover a broad spectrum of legal and economic topics.
The programme offers a blended learning approach, combining asynchronous learning phases with interactive elements accessible through the Moodle learning platform. Prior to the semester start, study materials such as digital study guides are provided. These materials are supplemented with explanatory videos, flashcards, quiz tasks, and sample exams.
