Admission requirements

For the Master's programme "Complementary Methods in Pain Therapy" (M.Sc.), admission can be granted to those who:
• Hold a university degree from DIPLOMA University (Diploma, Master, Bachelor) in the field of Health & Social Sciences with at least 210 credit points
or
• Hold a university degree from another university or college (Diploma, Master, Bachelor) in the field of Health with at least 210 credit points
or
• Have obtained a foreign degree that does not significantly differ from a Bachelor's, Diploma, Master's or Magister's examination according to points 1 and 2.
Applicants whose final grade of their first professional academic degree is "sufficient" are excluded from the Master's programme. Applicants with a "satisfactory" degree must demonstrate in an assessment interview that they are capable of successfully completing a Master's degree. Applicants for this course who cannot demonstrate the required 210 ECTS for admission have the opportunity to acquire up to 30 credit points (details are regulated by the examination regulations, § 8).
Applicants must also have at least one year of professional experience. If the basic knowledge does not meet the content requirements according to points 1 to 3, applicants will be required to take additional courses outside of the actual Master's programme to compensate for the missing competencies. These courses are conducted based on the corresponding courses in the field of Health and each concludes with an examination. The examination can be repeated once if not passed. The examination office, in agreement with the examination board, determines the respective competency deficits.

Qualifying examination for applicants without a first academic degree
Applicants without a university degree can be admitted to the Master's programme "Complementary Methods in Pain Therapy" in accordance with § 20 (3) of the Hessian Higher Education Act if they:
1. Have completed vocational training
2. Have at least two years of professional experience
3. Have passed a qualification examination at Bachelor's level at DIPLOMA University.
Details are regulated by the statutes (examination regulations). The regulations regarding university entrance qualifications according to § 60 of the Hessian Higher Education Act remain unaffected.

The postgraduate master's programme "Complementary Healing Methods in Pain Therapy" is primarily aimed at university graduates with a first qualified academic degree. The programme is designed especially for students who are already working in a therapeutic or nursing environment. For example, as nursing scientists, medical professionals, through a bachelor's degree in naturopathy and complementary healing methods, speech therapy, physiotherapy or occupational therapy. Midwives and health scientists also belong to the access professions.


The bachelor's programme "Complementary Healing Methods in Pain Therapy" (M.Sc.) leads from holistic diagnostics to natural healing therapies as a (online) distance learning programme. It provides pain therapy knowledge about classical natural healing methods, traditional European medicine, and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). This master's programme qualifies you as a specialist in complementary pain therapy. Course of studies
At DIPLOMA University, you have the opportunity to study the master's programme "Complementary Healing Methods in Pain Therapy" in one of two variants, either as an online programme or as an on-site distance learning programme.


The (online) distance learning programme at DIPLOMA University is designed according to the "blended learning" principle. This means that you work on the study contents with the help of study booklets and attend seminars. These usually take place on 12 to 14 Saturdays per semester – in some cases also during the week in the evening. In the online programme, these seminars take place as live online seminars. You can also take your exams online or at an examination centre of your choice. In the on-site distance learning programme, you attend your real presence seminars and exams at your chosen study centre – in Prichsenstadt/Würzburg.

Costs & Start of Studies
The (online) distance learning programme at DIPLOMA University starts every year in the summer semester (April) and winter semester (October) of a year. The start of the programme is also possible at any other time – after individual assessment.
